Some services claim to be “100% human” with lightning fast turnaround. The reality is they only accept "good" dictation (slow speech and clear audio) that they can run through voice recognition software, often hosted outside of the US, look over quickly and send back. They are missing the knowledge and experienced of transcriptionists who have spent decades in their fields, working with terrible audio quality, multiple accents, and styles of speech.

MDS transcriptionist partners are US based and screened for training and experience in their respective specialty, which may require extensive training in specialized terminology, the ability understand ESL accents, as well as the ability to transcribe audio with various background factors playing a part – group conference discussions, BWC interviews by police by the side of the road or in a confusing, chaotic situation.
